Licensing and permits

We are responsible for issuing and enforcing licenses and permits issued to businesses operating from premises in Ashfield, and individuals working for those businesses.

What we do

We process, regulate and enforce a wide variety of licences, permits and registrations relating to:

  • alcohol, entertainments, late night refreshments
  • street trading
  • betting and gaming
  • temporary pavement licences
  • body modifications such as acupuncture, electrolysis, piercings, tattooing
  • body treatments (massage, tanning, sauna)
  • sex establishments
  • scrap metal dealers
  • taxi and private hire drivers, vehicles and operators
  • charitable collections
  • animal welfare establishments including dangerous wild animals and zoos.

Public registers for licensing

You can view the public register of licences at our offices between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday. You will need to call us for an appointment and to let us know which register you want to view.
