If you are an established business looking to grow, then there may be grants available that can help you to develop your projects.

You can search for available grants using the following websites:

Nottingham Urban Business Support Programme

This programme supports the start-up and growth or development of existing micro, small and medium-sized businesses based in Nottingham City, Broxtowe, parts of Gedling, Rushcliffe, and Hucknall in Ashfield. Grants of between £1000 and £2500 are available. This will cover up to 25% of your eligible costs. However, to access this grant, the minimum project spend must be £4000 but once it’s been approved, this grant can be used to purchase services or equipment to help your business expand or diversify.

Capital Growth Fund

EMB offer grants between £1500 and £10,000 which can cover 30% of eligible project costs. The minimum projects size that will be considered is £5000. This grant can be used for capital purchases, such as machinery, equipment, and IT hardware but you can’t spend more than £24,999 with any single supplier. Applicants must also demonstrate they can create one new job as part of their growth project.

Business Investment Fund

This is managed by the D2N2 Growth Hub. SME’s can get a grant that covers up to 30% of your eligible project costs to a maximum of £30,000. This fund supports businesses with growth projects that improve productivity and operational efficiencies. So, projects could include digital developments, specialist consultancy services, such as leadership and management, and also equipment purchases. If you are interested in this grant, then you need to speak with a growth hub business advisor before you can submit an application.

The Food and Drink Forum

Offer grants to SMEs that operate B2B, which can cover 25% of agreed capital project costs for production equipment. The minimum project considered is £4,000 to a maximum £200,000. You will also receive 12 hours of free technical advice and access to events.

Invest to Grow

The University of Derby’s Invest to Grow programme provides loans and grants to support private sector businesses across the East Midlands to innovate, grow and create new jobs or safeguard existing jobs. Funding can cover 30% of agreed capital project costs, therefore an award of £15,000 would be for a minimum project cost of £50,000. The maximum award is £250,000.
