From Thursday 30th July, some restrictions at Idlewells Indoor Market will be eased following government guidance, including the reinstatement of seating in the foodcourt.
The food businesses have been open throughout lockdown and have been incredibly popular. The remaining Indoor Market traders have been open for business since 15th June and really appreciate the support they have received from the community.
The Government have recently reviewed the guidance for working safely in shops, which includes the requirement for customers to wear face coverings. The Council have taken this opportunity to revise the arrangements in the market based on customer experience since the reopening in June, and the Government’s latest update. The following changes will come into effect from Thursday 30th July:
Cllr Samantha Deakin, Ward Councillor for Sutton said “We are excited to be able to ease the restrictions in the Indoor Market, which will allow customers to enjoy shopping in a safe manner. I would like to personally thank all the residents who have shown support for our local businesses during these difficult times.
“The return of the seating will be a welcome return for many residents, I encourage everyone to come to the market to try some of the delicious food on offer. Many of the retailers have been providing essential products during lockdown, and it’s time to continue shopping local now restrictions have eased.”
