Improvements to Lime Tree Recreation Ground

Thursday 12 October

Results of the recent community poll on a new name for Lime Tree Recreation Ground are now in!

Broomhill Park – 67%
Lime Tree Park – 33%

The community were given the opportunity to vote for their favourite name throughout September with people being able to cast their votes through Facebook, Twitter, via email, at Broomhill Support Office, Sure Start Butlers Hill and Broomhill Children’s Centre and local schools.

In response to resident’s requests, works to provide a new footpath and improve entrances have been carried out to restrict access for motorcycles.  A new sign for the park will also be put up in the next few weeks.

Consultation events were well attended over the summer and the responses will be used to support a funding bid in the spring to match fund Section 106 contributions from housing developers. Subject to a successful funding application, the play area will be installed early next summer.

A tree planting event and landscape management works are planned for the autumn.  Further information and posters will be sent out nearer the time.

Please get in touch if you require any further information or want to support initiatives on the park.
