Titchfield Park, Hucknall has been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best parks in the UK as it joins five other green spaces awarded recognition in Ashfield.
The Green Flag was raised by Cllr John Wilmott and Cllr Lauren Mitchell. They were accompanied by Friends of Titchfield Park, Marie from Titchfield Park Café and the ADC Environment Team that maintain the park.
Cllr John Wilmott, Portfolio Holder for Regulatory Services, said: “It’s a great privilege to raise the flag for one of our parks. We take great pride in our green spaces.
“We are always working to provide constant maintenance and improvements to our parks and green spaces. We know that the quality of our green spaces mean a lot to visitors and residents within our district.”
The park is among 2038 UK parks and green spaces and 44 in seven other countries around the world that will receive the prestigious Green Flag Award– the mark of a quality park or green space.
This international award, established in 1996, is a sign to the public that the park showcases the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
Cllr John Wilmott added: “It’s a great achievement to have regained the Green Flag Award for the tenth year in a row.
“The Green Flag Award recognises the dedication and hard work that our Environment Team puts in all year round to uphold the high standard we expect from our parks.”
