We would ask all residents NOT TO HAVE bonfires for the foreseeable future as per the recent guidance issued by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. This statement has been issued due to the health risks and unpleasantness this can pose to residents at home and whilst enjoying their garden.

The recent nice weather might mean you have been doing more in the garden and we recognise you might be tempted to have a bonfire; however, Ashfield District Council does not consider this to be a suitable time to be having them and may take action under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 or Environmental Protection Act 1990 should we consider this a nuisance.
