Dog Barking

The Council still has a duty to investigate noise nuisance relating to dogs during the lockdown period. With this in mind, we are urging all dog owners to make sure their dogs do not bark excessively, so it does not cause a significant interference to your neighbour’s use of their property. We recognise that if you are shielding that it may be difficult to allow your dogs to exercise and therefore if you are experiencing problems during the lockdown period we encourage you to contact us so we can offer advice and support to you.

If dogs do bark excessively we will aim to work with dog owners to reduce the noise in the first instance before considering any form of enforcement action.
