How will I know if my online payment has been successful?
When you have finished entering your card details and confirmed you want to continue with the payment, there will be a short delay while your card details are validated.
If your payment is successful, a receipt will be displayed which contains a transaction reference number. Please keep a record of this number. If an error occurs, your payment will not be processed and a message explaining why will be displayed.
When will my payment show on the Council's records?
Payments received up until midnight on any working day (Monday to Friday) will normally be allocated to the account (council tax, business rates etc.) by the next working day. Payments received after this, at weekends and on Bank Holidays will normally be allocated to the account by the following working day.
Is my information secure?
The Council uses a secure server to receive your payment card details. This means your transaction details are put into code, so that they cannot be read by anyone else.
Can I make my payment by telephone?
We have a 24 hour telephone payment facility on 0800 090 2223 (This is a Freephone number so you will not be charged for the call)
Can I make payments directly from my bank?
We can take direct transfers from banks and building societies, you just need to enter our bank details Sort Code 20-55-70 Account number 03619389. Please quote any account or reference number you have been given so we can process the payment quickly.
