Hucknall Town Centre Conservation Area

Ashfield District Council consulted on the proposed designation of a Conservation Area for Hucknall town centre from 19th November 2018 to 7th January 2019. After considering the results of the consultation, the Council's Cabinet, at its meetings of 11th March 2019, resolved that the designation of the Hucknall Town Centre Conservation Area be approved and implemented in accordance with legislative requirements.

A copy of the boundary map of the proposed Conservation Area can be found here.

The Hucknall Town Centre Conservation Area has been prepared by the Council to help preserve and enhance Hucknall’s special architectural and historic character and appearance. The designation of a Conservation Area brings special planning controls, especially over the demolition of buildings and felling of trees.

The Designation Statement and Questionnaire sets out Hucknall’s special character and appearance, outlines the effect of Conservation Area Designation and includes a Questionnaire on the proposals.  It is available to view here.

The Hucknall Town Centre Conservation Area Designation Consultation Report can be found here.
