Ashfield District Council consulted on the proposed designation of a Conservation Area for Hucknall town centre from 19th November 2018 to 7th January 2019.
A Conservation Area is an area of special architectural or historic interest the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.
The designation of a Conservation Area brings special planning controls, especially over the demolition of buildings and felling of trees.
The proposed Hucknall Conservation Area has been prepared by the Council to help preserve and enhance Hucknall’s special architectural and historic character and appearance.
The Designation Statement and Questionnaire sets out Hucknall’s special character and appearance, outlines the effect of Conservation Area Designation and includes a Questionnaire on the proposals. It is available to view here.
A copy of the boundary map of the proposed Conservation Area can be found here
The Hucknall Town Centre Conservation Area Designation Consultation Report can be found here.
