Members Code of Conduct and Complaints process

The Council and its Members are required to demonstrate and uphold high standards of behaviour. The Members’ Code of Conduct sets out what is expected of Members of the Council when acting in their official capacity. The Code incorporates the Nolan Principles – the seven principles of public life.

The Council must have in place arrangements under which allegations that a Member has failed to comply with the Members’ Code of Conduct can be investigated and decisions made on such allegations. The complaints process applies to District and Parish Councillors.
