Competition to Discover the best photographers in Ashfield returns

After a successful first competition in 2019, the Discover Ashfield Photography Competition is back for 2020.

Last year the competition aimed to find photographs that promoted and increased awareness of Ashfield. This year, the Discover Ashfield Board is seeking images that capture the best of Ashfield, through its people and the urban landscape; photographs of hidden gems in Ashfield, interesting architecture, our busy town centres and picturesque villages.

The images have to represent one of the four strands of Discover Ashfield; Love Where You Live, More to Discover, Places to Enjoy and Succeed in Ashfield.

The competition closes on 8th November and the winning images will be chosen by the Discover Ashfield Board, with each category winner receiving a £100 High Street voucher.

Last year there were 115 photographs entered into the competition, and Martin Rigley MBE, Chairman of the Discover Ashfield Board, is hoping there will be even more this year. He said “We were really impressed with the quality of last year’s entries, they reflected the best of Ashfield and showed what talented photographers we have in the District.
“I am looking forward to seeing what interesting images we receive this year, especially with the change in the brief. It would be great to see photographs that capture a unique perspective of our town centres and images that represent our booming manufacturing industry that we have here in Ashfield. Good luck everyone!”
