The play improvements at Titchfield park, Kirkby, have been completed

The long awaited play area improvement works at Titchfield Park, Kirkby, have been completed.

The exciting new equipment for the park includes new slides, various styles of swings, multi-level climbing frames and new inclusive play equipment.

The investment into the park follows the recent completion of the new state-of-the-art park on Annesley Recreation Ground and the current improvement works at Skegby Road Recreation Ground. On top of these investments, an additional £366k is being invested in a number of play areas including Healdswood, Nuncargate & Riley Recreation Grounds, West Park, Rowan Drive, Glen View and Titchfield Park, Hucknall. This is in addition to the £1.5m the Council has already committed to green space improvements by Mach 2021.

Cllr Daniel Williamson, Ward Councillor for Kirkby Cross, said “We are delighted that the play equipment has finally been upgraded at Titchfield Park in Kirkby, it was neglected for too long. I am glad to hear that our younger residents have been enjoying the new play area that they deserve.
“This year is Kirkby’s year! We are so excited for all the upcoming work that will be happening across Kirkby, including the long awaited leisure centre. The Council have also been working on the plans for the £750k from the accelerated Towns Fund which has to be spent by March 2021. Following the recent consultation, work will begin next year on the open space on Sorrel Drive, so keep an eye out on our social media and website for updates.”
