Bulb Planting at Leamington

Winter Bulb Planting gets underway

Ashfield District Council’s winter bulb planting programme has kicked off in Sutton.

The Council’s Environment teams are working hard to ensure Ashfield is awash with colour next Spring.

Leamington Drive off Kirkby Road has seen the latest wave of bulbs planted. This follows the planting at Spring Bank island in Sutton last week.

Up to 8000 bulbs have been planted to provide a canvas of red and yellow tulips for residents to enjoy.

Council Leader Councillor Jason Zadrozny joined Leamington Ward Member Councillor Sarah Madigan to oversee this work.

Cllr Sarah Madigan is proud to see this work commencing in her ward.

She said: “A splash of colour in our parks and open spaces never fails to put a smile on people’s faces so I’m very pleased to see this planting happening in the Leamington ward.
“The rest of the District will also benefit from this fantastic programme so come Spring next year Ashfield residents far and wide will be pleased to see the tulips blooming in their communities!”
