Housing Benefit gives help with the payment of rent to a private landlord, housing association or for one of our properties. It cannot help with mortgage repayments or rent payable on business premises.

For a full evaluation you should submit a benefit claim form as soon as possible – if you qualify, your entitlement will usually only start from the Monday after the day we receive your application.

The benefit cap
