Public Spaces Protection Order 2023

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) are intended to deal with a particular nuisance or problem in  areas that are considered detrimental to the local community’s quality of life.

A PSPO works by imposing conditions on the use of that area which apply to everyone. They are designed to ensure that the law-abiding majority can use and enjoy public spaces without experiencing crime or anti-social behaviour. A PSPO remains in place for a period of 3 years unless discharged by the Local Authority.

The Public Spaces Protection Order 2023 will be in force in Ashfield from 1 March 2023, which will restrict public access in the following locations.

  1. Between Spruce Grove and Beacon Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  2. Between Bentinck Street and Bramley Court, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  3. Between Downing Street and North Street, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  4. Rear of 34-37 Rockwood Walk, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire
  5. Adjacent 40 Rosewood Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  6. Between Spruce Grove and Poplar Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  7. Between Welbeck Street and Portland Close, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  8. Between Bramley Court and Sutton Lawn, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The locations will have gating/fencing erected in the areas where public access has been restricted. Signage will be placed in these locations to alert residents that the order is in force.

If you require further information of the order and details of the locations effected, please see the documents in the download section of this page.
