Week 1 of the Local Plan public Hearings came to a close on Thursday 14 November 2024. A post hearing letter outlining the way forward from the Inspectors was received by the Council on 6 January 2025.

The letter asks the Council to undertake further work before hearings may continue for Matters 4 to 12. The hearings have been postponed until further notice. A response is requested from the Council by Friday 10 January 2025. The Council’s response and all other documents are available to view in the Local Plan Examination Library.

Draft hearings programme

The draft hearings programme will be updated throughout the examination. An updated version will be available in due course.

Stage 2 of the hearings will cover the following Matters:

• Matter 4 - Economy, retail, and town centres
• Matter 5 – Sustainable development in Ashfield
• Matter 6 - Climate change
• Matter 7 - Heritage and natural environment
• Matter 8 - Design, developer contributions and other place making policies
• Matter 9 - The supply and delivery of housing land
• Matter 10 - Site allocations
• Matter 11 - Transport and infrastructure
• Matter 12 - Viability
