Ashfield District Council supports good landlords at Renters' Rights Act conference
Private landlords wanting to learn more about how the Renter’s Rights Act will impact them are being encouraged to attend a major housing conference.
Ashfield District Council, a supporter of DASH Services, is promoting the East Midlands Housing Conference 2026, which will take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre on 20 October 2026.
This will provide landlords, letting agents and housing professionals with practical guidance on the real-world impact of the Renters' Rights Act. Landlords will hear from leading experts, gain practical advice on compliance, and explore how the changes are reshaping the private rented sector.
Housing law specialist David Smith and Suzanne Smith, author of The Good Landlord Handbook, will deliver the keynote presentations. They will be joined by a range of expert speakers leading interactive workshops throughout the day.
An exhibition featuring organisations that support landlords and housing professionals will also run alongside the conference.
Councillor Samantha Deakin, Ashfield District Council’s Executive Lead Member for Strategic Housing and Climate Change, said:
“We are here to support private landlords with the new changes coming in. It is an important part of maintaining a healthy and well-managed private rented sector.
“The Renters' Rights Act represents one of the biggest changes to housing legislation in many years, and this conference offers an excellent opportunity for landlords to understand what the reforms mean in practice and how they can prepare."
Linda Cobb OBE, Principal Manager of DASH Services, said:
"The response to our 2025 East Midlands Housing Conference exceeded all expectations, demonstrating the demand for clear, independent advice. This year's event comes at a crucial time as landlords begin to navigate the practical implications of the Renters' Rights Act.”
