Coffee, cyber and connectivity
The importance of cyber security was the topic of discussion at Ashfield District Council’s latest Business Leader’s Networking event last week.
Hosted at the Mour Hotel, guest speakers at the event were DI Colin Ellis, Managing Director at East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre (EMCRC), and Professor Steven Furnell, Professor of Cyber Security in the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham.
During their presentations, the two speakers offered advice on the challenges facing businesses around cyber security, governance and risk. The event allowed new connections to be formed by bringing together business leaders from different sectors, across Ashfield and Nottinghamshire.
The business networking events are just a small part of the wider package that Ashfield District Council offer to help businesses thrive in Ashfield, more information can be found on the Council’s website at https://www.ashfield.gov.uk/business-support/
Cllr Matthew Relf, Executive Member for Growth, Regeneration and Local Planning, said:
“Our business leader networking events are always fantastic, and this one was an extremely relevant topic. I’d like to thank our two excellent guest speakers for bringing their expertise and knowledge to our event.
“As part of our commitment to helping business flourish in Ashfield, our business support team offer a free service to businesses of every size across the District. Whether you need help growing your business, advice on specialist subjects, or how to access funding and grants available, I’d encourage every business owner to contact our team for support.”
