Community grants up for grabs for Hucknall and the rurals
Community organisations in Hucknall, Annesley and the rural villages in Ashfield can now apply for grants of up to £75,000 from the Council’s Pride in Place Impact Fund.
The funding is designed to support organisations that own or lease community venues and want to improve their condition, accessibility, sustainability or capacity to host community activity. The aim is to secure long-term community use, enhance local pride in place, and ensure facilities remain safe, welcoming and fit for purpose.
Eligible venues include, but aren’t limited to, community centres, halls, cafes, gardens and community run shops, village halls, sports pavilions, youth centres, social clubs, cultural, heritage or arts buildings, libraries and faith buildings where community access is clearly demonstrated.
The grant applications close on 27 May 2026 and will be reviewed by the Discover Ashfield Funding subgroup before the Discover Ashfield Board makes final approvals.
Cllr Matthew Relf, Executive Lead Member for Growth, Regeneration and Local Planning said:
“We are extremely pleased to be able to launch this grant scheme to support the community in Hucknall, Selston, Jacksdale, Underwood, and Westwood. There are so many groups, clubs and organisations who do fantastic work that will benefit from this funding to help transform their spaces for the good of the community.”
Kieran Percival, Chairman of the Discover Ashfield Board, said:
“It’s fantastic to see the community grant scheme ready to go. Ashfield is full of passionate people doing incredible things, and this funding is here to help them grow. We’re excited to hear how local organisations will use it to bring people together, support one another, and continue building a community we can all be proud of”.
