Events are back in Ashfield for 2026
Summer is approaching fast and so is the start of the Council’s event season.
Ashfield District Council is bringing big and bold events back to the District this year, with another jam-packed calendar of free events for 2026.
The season kicks off with the annual Plant and Garden Fair on Sunday 17 May which sees Market Place car park, Sutton, taken over by vibrant stalls selling a huge variety of plants, flowers, garden accessories and garden furniture.
On Saturday 20 June, Films in the Park is returning to Selston Country Park bringing the magic of the cinema to peaceful surroundings of the country park.
Music lovers will be thrilled to hear that Hucknall Fest is back for the third year on Titchfield Park on Saturday 4 July and will feature a host of live music, market stalls, food and drink.
The flagship event of the year, the three-day extravaganza Ashfield Show will be taking over Sutton Lawn from Friday 7 August until Sunday 9 August. Visitors can expect a weekend full of live music, dancing (in the sunshine?) food, drinks, live entertainment, market stalls, fairground rides and a few surprises.
The summer season finishes with the fantastic Ashfield Food and Drink Festival at Hucknall on Sunday 23 August. The event is shaping up to be the biggest yet, with over 40 stalls confirmed already giving people a chance to experience food and drink from across the globe.
Full details for each event will be released closer to the time on the Council’s social media pages and website.
Cllr Chris Huskinson, Executive Lead Member for Leisure, Health and Wellbeing said
“Every year our events grow and get better, and this year is no different. We have something for everyone and, as usual, all our events are free to attend with no booking required. Ashfield District Council’s event programme is designed to get people into our towns, support local businesses, and present cultural opportunities right in the heart of our communities.”
