Food and Drink Festival sell-out success
Ashfield District Council’s final event of the summer, Ashfield Food and Drink Festival, was a sell-out success.
The biggest festival yet, with 52 stalls, and thousands of visitors saw at least seven traders selling out completely.
Festival newcomer, Becky's Scone Mad was shocked to sell 410 homemade scones by 2pm, whilst Sweet House Bakery sold more bakes in four hours than they usually would in a whole weekend. Baked Buns Official, who had a queue from 10am, sold out of their cinnamon buns in just under two hours.
Returning favourites, Back-A-Yard Cuisine’s delicious homemade Jamaican food was a huge hit, with long queues, leading to another sell out festival for them.
It was a fantastic day from start to finish with live music setting the atmosphere, pop up buskers and children's crafts by Ashfield Creates, and huge crowds enjoying the event.
The event in Hucknall town centre boasted a variety of stalls, including matcha, cider, rum, liqueurs, street food, sweet treats, chutneys, cheese, jams, artisan breads, pastries, coffee, kitchenware, and much more.
Specsavers Hucknall kindly sponsored the event this year and provided free goody bags, glitter tattoos and advice for event-goers.
Ashfield Food and Drink Festival will be back in Hucknall on Sunday 22 August 2027.
Cllr Lee Waters, Ward Councillor for Hucknall Central, said
“We had a fantastic response to Ashfield Food and Drink Festival this year. Our Markets team worked hard to recruit new and exciting traders to make this event the best yet, and it’s safe to say they delivered.
“It’s such a great event that livens up the town centre and benefits the businesses on the high street and beyond. We can’t wait for next year!”
