Free bulky waste collections back for 2026
Ashfield District Council is reaffirming its commitment to cleaner neighbourhoods and improved waste services by continuing its free bulky waste collection scheme, which offers one free collection of up to 3 items per household.
The scheme, which starts in April, will run until March 2027, ensuring residents across the district can dispose of large household items responsibly and at no cost.
The initiative is designed to reduce fly‑tipping and encourage proper waste disposal. Eligible bulky items include common household goods such as furniture, small appliances, and other large items that cannot be placed in standard household bins.
Councillor Helen-Ann Smith, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services said:
“We know how important it is for residents to have access to convenient and affordable waste services.
By continuing to offer a free bulky waste collection, we’re helping households keep their homes clutter‑free while also protecting our environment and public spaces.”
