Launch of new Feel Good Ashfield podcast
A new podcast offering top advice and helpful tips on health and wellbeing has been launched by Ashfield District Council.
The Feel Good Ashfield podcast will be a monthly programme bringing together experts from across the district to share their thoughts, ideas and advice on various topics. They will also link to organisations that can get residents the support they need.
Each episode will focus on a different topic and bring specialists together to provide advice, with the panel also on hand to address some common misconceptions.
The first episode is out now, offering advice to parents on surviving the summer holidays, with support on increased costs for childcare and activities, managing screen time and dealing with parental guilt.
Scarlett White and Susan Scotney from the Hucknall Family Hub talk about how parents can create long-lasting memories for low or no cost, and Bethany Wright, of Inspire Culture, talks about the summer reading challenge at Ashfield libraries.
The show is available on Spotify by searching ‘Feel Good Ashfield’ and other podcast platforms, with new episodes being released on the first Friday of every month.
Future episodes will include how moving more can help improve mental health, advice on coping with children going back to school and finding the right diet.
Cllr Chris Huskinson, Ashfield District Council’s Executive Lead for Leisure, Health and Wellbeing, said:
"This is a fantastic way to get top advice and tips on saying healthy, keeping the little ones entertained in the school break and looking after your wellbeing.
“Keeping our residents healthy and happy is a top priority for us as a council and this is one way we can support people in getting the help they need and directing them to the services right on their doorsteps.
“I would like to thank all the professionals who have given their time to taking part in this podcast so far and for sharing such brilliant advice. I would urge everyone to take the time to listen to this podcast, especially those looking for some help with the summer holidays.”
