New support for Kirkby businesses launched
Ashfield District Council has launched a new business support scheme for Kirkby businesses from their Pride in Place Fund.
The project will provide specialist one-to-one support to established businesses and social enterprises in Kirkby, helping them strengthen their commercial sustainability, improve productivity and support future growth.
The programme will offer tailored support to help organisations address commercial challenges, reduce operational costs, increase revenues and identify new market opportunities. Support will focus on key areas including:
- People and Skills
- Processes and Systems
- Customers and Markets
- Financial Performance
Delivered by a specialist consultant, participating organisations will receive practical, hands-on support, beginning with a business diagnostic and commercial roadmap, followed by targeted interventions designed to achieve measurable improvements.
Funded through Ashfield District Council's £20million Pride in Place programme, the project forms part of the Council's long-term commitment to strengthening the local economy and supporting sustainable business growth in Kirkby.
This is just one of the numerous initiatives being paid for by the Council’s Pride in Place Fund for Kirkby.
Cllr Matthew Relf, Ashfield District Council’s Executive Lead for Growth, Regeneration and Local Planning, said:
“Many businesses and social enterprises face increasing pressures to balance operational delivery with rising costs. This new programme will provide access to specialist expertise that can help organisations identify practical solutions, improve efficiency and build long-term financial resilience. We are delighted to be able to offer this valuable support to Kirkby's business community."
Places on the programme will be limited, with referrals managed by Ashfield District Council's Economic Development Team. Eligible organisations must be established businesses or social enterprises, based in Kirkby, that have been trading for at least 12 months.
