Remembrance Sunday events
Acts of commemoration and remembrance will be taking place across Ashfield this weekend as the nation falls silent on Remembrance Sunday (9 November).
Wreaths will be laid at war memorials in the district followed by two minutes silence observed at 11am.
This year marked the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, while it is now 107 years since the end of the Great War in 1918.
Remembrance Sunday is an opportunity to commemorate and remember all those who have served, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts around the world.
