Resident banned from entering Greenwood Estate
An Ashfield resident has been banned from entering the Greenwood Estate, Kirkby, for two years.
Ashfield District Council Community Protection Officers successfully obtained a two-year civil injunction against an individual after a torrent of criminal behaviours which had long term impacts on residents on Sycamore Avenue and surrounding areas of Kirkby in Ashfield. The defendant was also ordered to pay costs of £2,470.96.
His behaviour included threats of and physical violence, domestic abuse against his partner, public order offences in the street, and criminal damage.
Cllr John Wilmott, Executive Lead Member for Crime Reduction and Community Safety said:
“This is a fantastic result for the residents of the Greenwood Estate in Kirkby whose lives had been negatively affected by his actions. We take every case of anti-social, nuisance and criminal behaviour seriously and we will use all our enforcement powers to pursue offenders.”
The injunction orders that the individual is forbidden from entering the Greenwood Estate, Kirkby in Ashfield, which includes Sycamore Avenue; engaging in, or threatening to engage in, abusive behaviour or behaviour causing harassment, alarm and distress; and/or conduct that is capable of causing a nuisance or annoyance towards residents, business owners, visitors, Council employees, and Emergency Service workers within the whole of the Ashfield District.
