Residents and students invited to help shape the future of Indoor Market
Residents, shoppers and students are being invited to visit Idlewells Indoor Market on Monday 2 November for a special Open Day featuring live music, exclusive student offers and the opportunity to help shape the market's future.
The event forms part of an initiative to welcome new students to Sutton-in-Ashfield, introduce them to the town centre and encourage a younger audience to discover everything Idlewells Indoor Market has to offer.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view proposed rebrand designs and concepts for the market and provide feedback on the future look and feel of one of Sutton's key shopping destinations. The feedback gathered during the event will help inform the market's new identity as it continues to evolve and attract new visitors.
Alongside the consultation, visitors can enjoy live music and explore the market's wide range of independent businesses, from fresh food and produce to fashion, gifts, crafts, cafés and specialist retailers.
The Open Day aims to showcase the market to students who may be new to the area, while highlighting the variety of affordable shopping, food and services available in Sutton town centre.
To help welcome students to Sutton, a number of traders will be offering exclusive promotions throughout the day. Students can access the offers by showing a valid student ID card.
Participating offers include:
- Websters Bakery - Meal Deal for £5
- Colledges Butchers - Two sausage rolls for £4 or two Cornish pasties for £5
- Phone Master Repair - Free screen protector with any repair, plus 50% off chargers and phone cases
- Tina's Woolly Crafts - 10% off purchases over £20
- Ashfield Cheese & Spicee - Cheese tastings and special offers available
John Bennett, Executive Director of Place at Ashfield District Council said: "Idlewells Indoor Market plays an important role in Sutton town centre, and we're keen to ensure it continues to meet the needs of both existing customers and future generations of shoppers.
"This Open Day is a great opportunity for people to discover what the market has to offer, support our fantastic independent traders and have their say on the proposed ideas for the market's future.
"We're particularly looking forward to welcoming students who may be new to the area and introducing them to the wide range of businesses, products and services available right here in the heart of Sutton."
Whether visitors are regular market shoppers, students new to the area or people who want to have a say on the market's future, everyone is encouraged to come along and get involved.
The Open Day takes place from 10am to 3pm on Monday 2 November at Idlewells Indoor Market.
