Local plan
‘Planning is about getting the right things built in the right places, about the spaces around buildings, and about other issues too, such as job creation, social justice, regeneration, and climate change.’ (How Planning Works - Local Government Group/PAS)
The Local Plan provides a framework for guiding planning decisions. It addresses needs and opportunities in relation to housing, the local economy, community facilities and infrastructure. It safeguard the natural and historic environment, enables adaptation to climate change and helps secure high quality design.
