All of Ashfield District Council's Test Trading Opportunities and Enterprise Development Grants have been fully allocated so we are no longer accepting any further applications.

Supporting local businesses

The Business Support Team is proud to support our local businesses through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund from UK Government.

All of our grants are offered under the UK Governments Minimum Financial Assistance subsidy rules. Certain businesses are also excluded from applying for this grant - these include

  • pawn brokers
  • adult/private shops
  • betting shops
  • national and international chain stores.

Available grants

We currently have the following grants available:

Enterprise development grant

  • up to £10,000 or 75 percent of eligible project costs

Test trading grant

  • up to £500 of eligible project costs

Important:

You will need to have all your supporting documents ready in an electronic format, ready to upload before starting to complete your application. The form will not allow you to save a partially completed application, so you will need to complete it and submit it in one go.

Supporting documents

The supporting documents must be uploaded into your application; any incomplete applications will not be accepted or saved online.

These include:

  • bank statements
  • project expenditure details
  • 12 month profit and loss cash flow forecast
  • 3 like for like supplier quotes, for any single pieces of expenditure over £3000

1. Have you spoken with a member of our business support team to confirm the suitability of your proposed growth plan prior to applying for any Council grants. If you have not had this discussion please do not continue, as your application will be declined.

You need to speak to a member of our Business Support team before you can apply for this grant.

2. Are you applying for a Test Trading Grant? If so, have you completed an expression of interest form and submitted this to our Markets Team? Have you been accepted onto the programme? If not, please do not continue, as your application will be automatically declined

If you haven't submitted an expression of interest form to our Markets team, or haven't been accepted onto the Test trading programme

Please email markets@ashfield.gov.uk to express your your interest in Test trading programme.
