The Benefit Cap

There is a limit on the amount of benefit that working age people aged can get. This is called a Benefit Cap.

So if you:

  • Are a couple or lone parent and receive more than £384.62 per week in welfare benefits, which includes any Housing Benefit paid, or
  • Are a single person and receive more than £257.69 per week in welfare benefits, which also includes any Housing Benefit paid

then you will probably be affected by these changes.
