People and Skills Investment - Privacy Notice

This privacy notice explains what personal information is collected for Ashfield District Council funded People and Skills Investment, the purposes for which it is collected and who we share the information with.

Purpose for processing your information:

Ashfield District Council collects this personal information to understand employment and skills needs, to provide employment and skills support within the Ashfield district and to contact those that have accessed our services from time to time via email, newsletters, postal letters, face to face or telephone to:

  • promote the services that we provide.
  • provide feedback from the services you have accessed.
  • provide updates on local employment and skills news and forthcoming events
  • consult on future activities and developments, including surveys.

We collect the following information:

  • name of the individual
  • house number and post code
  • Ashfield ward
  • ethnicity
  • labour market status
  • age group on accessing the service
  • gender
  • sexual orientation
  • marital status
  • participant identifies as having health condition
  • participant identifies as having a criminal record
  • participant identifies as being a lone parent.

If you move into employment after receiving support from one of our services, then we will collect:

  • name of employer
  • employer address
  • job title
  • start date.

This personal information is only used for the above intended purpose unless the Council has a legal duty to use if for another purpose. This includes for the prevention and detection of fraud, or if there is a risk of serious harm or threat to life.

Our lawful bases for collecting and using your personal information to provide these services are:

  • consent
  • public task

How do we collect your information?

We collect personal information in several ways, for example, by letter, enrolment forms, email, face-to-face, telephone, online forms and through a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Who do we share this information with?

Personal information may be shared with a data processer providing services on our behalf, it may also be shared with central government if it is part of statutory monitoring or reporting requirement relating to UK Shared Prosperity Fund projects.

How long do we keep your information?

Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use in line with our Retention and disposal policy

Your rights and access to your information

Data protection law gives you the right to:

  • request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you (called a subject access request)
  • withdraw consent to the processing of your personal information – when we use consent as our lawful basis you have the right to withdraw your consent
  • object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances
  • restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances
  • request erasure of your personal information in certain circumstances
  • ask us to correct your personal information if it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • have your personal information transferred or copied should you move to another authority
  • not be subject to automated decision-making including profiling.
