Ashfield residents, businesses, employees and other organisations are being reminded that they have until next Monday (12 December) to comment on the Council’s budget and policy proposals for 2017/18.
The Council’s savings proposals aim to reduce the Council’s annual running costs and generate income.
The budget proposals are available to view and make comment on at www.ashfield-dc.gov.uk/budget2017 and people have until Monday, 12 December 2016 to register their views.
For those without internet access, booklets including all the details are available at each of the district’s leisure centres, as well as any Council office.
Councillor Cheryl Butler, Leader of Ashfield District Council, said the Council is keen for as many residents of Ashfield as possible to have their say: "With income reducing, Ashfield District Council is in a challenging financial situation. We have to look for ways to make savings as well as being innovative and generating an income.
"We will do everything within our power to minimise the impact of budget cuts on our residents by developing creative and new options for the way we deliver services as well as potential new business venture ideas.
"Every one of our residents uses Council services in some way and it is important that people have their say to help us decide how to meet the financial challenge. If you have not yet had your say, there is still time.”
