Ashfield’s outdoor markets will be reopening from Monday 1st June, after ten weeks of closure.
This follows the recent government guidance that outdoor markets are allowed to reopen, and is another step forward in Ashfield being open for business.
Sutton market will open on Monday with measures in place to ensure that residents can shop safely. Layouts will change so that shoppers can safely social distance and signage will be in place to guide shoppers round the markets.
Cllr Daniel Williamson, Cabinet Member for Corporate Communications and Governance, said “We are so pleased that we can reopen our outdoor markets. Now is the perfect time to shop with the local traders, who need your support more than ever. We look forward to welcoming you all back to our outdoor markets.”
The Council asks that people do not attend the markets in groups and that shopper’s keep 2m apart to protect themselves and the traders.
Cllr Williamson continued “Not all market stalls will be open initially and not all will be able to offer their full range of goods and services, but within the next few weeks we hope our markets as popular as they were pre lockdown.”
Idlewells Indoor Market will also be reopening fully from June 15th in line with government guidance.
Our outdoor markets will be returning to their operating days of:

Mondays, 9am - 4pm, plus various street traders throughout the week
Kirkby Outdoor Market
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am – 3pm
Hucknall Outdoor Market
