Coast to Coast Bike Ride raises money for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Thursday 20 April 2017 Coast to Coast Bike Ride raises money for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Employees from Ashfield District Council, Mansfield District Council and Local Authority Building Control recently conquered a coast to coast bike ride from Morecambe to Whitby to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

LABC President and Ashfield District Council employee, Richard Scott said: "We had great weather on day one and everyone enjoyed the challenge of riding up the Butter Tubs Pass. Day two started well but we ended up riding into Whitby drenched and very cold.

"Overall we had a great time and will have hopefully raised a substantial amount of money for Pancreatic Cancer UK."

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, the total amount raised to date is £11,300 and further fundraising is planned in order to reach the £20,000 target.

Richard will be now starting his training for the Great North Run and the fundraising doesn't stop until December, so anyone who still wishes to donate can do so by going to or by texting LABC73£5 (or whatever amount you wish to donate) to 70070.
