Last Wednesday Council Officers from the Community Protection and Housing teams and the Neighbourhood Policing Team had a day of action on the Coxmoor Estate.
Officers spoke to residents regarding issues in the area and what partners can do to help improve things on the estate. Housing Officers conducted inspections at five properties and Police Officers visited a number of addresses in connection to ongoing enquiries regarding a known troublemaker in the area.
As part of the day of action:
- Three properties were identified as having excess waste outside
- One property was found to have a by-passed electric meter
- Police Officers visited 13 separate addresses known to be frequented by a known criminal who was subsequently arrested over the weekend
The day demonstrated positive partnership working and engagement with the community, in an area that is the subject of significant anti-social behaviour, as well as enabling officers to gain significant intelligence about criminal activity and those individuals who are adversely affecting that community.
Cllr Jason Zadrozny, Leader of Ashfield District Council says “The Council remains committed to tackling the ongoing issues on Coxmoor, through continued partnership working with the Police and other local partnership agencies, improvements have already been made with plans in place for other initiatives and further days of action in the area.”
