Idlewells Indoor Market is open for Business!

Monday 15 June 2020 Idlewells Indoor Market is open for Business!

From Monday 15th June, non essential retailers at Idlewells indoor market will be reopen for business.

They will join a number of food businesses that remained open throughout lockdown. The popularity of the market throughout lockdown has been incredible, and large numbers are expected when the rest of the market reopens.

To ensure shoppers safety a number of measures have been put in place.

  • A one way system is in operation with markings on the floor, signage and leaflets available to explain directions. Staff will be available to offer guidance and assistance.
  • Customers should observe social distancing at all times. We will be limiting the number of customers in the market at any time. A queueing system will be in place.
  • The Market Street entrance will remain closed for now.
  • Hand sanitisation stations will be available throughout the market.
  • There is no seating within the market and food stalls can only offer a takeaway service.
  • For your safety many of the traders now accept cashless payments or have systems in place to handle change safely.

Cllr Jason Zadrozny, Leader of Ashfield District Council said “We are excited to see the whole of Idlewells Indoor Market reopen. It is a thriving hub in the community and it will be fantastic to see old, and new customers choosing to shop local and supporting local traders.

“Many of the food retailers have been providing much needed delivery services during lockdown, and I encourage anyone that used these services to continue supporting these traders now restrictions have eased.”

The opening of Idlewells Indoor Market follows the successful reopening of Ashfields outdoor markets last week.
