Kirkby based businesses are being encouraged to take part in the town’s Kirkby Christmas window competition.
Kirkby Christmas Festival team, in association with Mansfield and Ashfield 2020, are inviting all its town centre businesses with a shop window to deck out their shop displays in a festive Christmas theme.
The competition is aimed at promoting Kirkby Town Centre and its businesses, encouraging community spirit, increasing footfall and customer spend.
Shoppers in Kirkby are also encouraged to give their favourite shop a nudge and ask them to take part.
Caroline Cox, Operations Director of Mansfield and Ashfield 2020, said: “This is a great way for all Kirkby’s businesses, no matter what their trade, to express their creativity as well as transforming the town into an even more attractive and festive place for customers and visitors”.
Cllr. Don Davis, Deputy Leader of the Council, also commented: “The shop window competition will hopefully inspire the traders of Kirkby to get into the festive spirit and create the best display in town. This will also be a great way of demonstrating how far Kirkby Town Centre has come in such a short period of time”.
All traders are now being contacted with entry forms. Entries should be submitted by Saturday 26 November and judging will commence on Friday 9 December, the same day as the Kirkby’s Christmas tree lighting event.
The judging criteria will be based on overall impact with super prizes being donated by Boots, Morrisons and Wetherspoons.
Entries should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to Council Offices, Urban Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, NG17 8DA
