Tenant Gardens look Blooming Lovely

Wednesday 8 August 2018 Tenant Gardens look Blooming Lovely

The winners of Ashfield District Council’s annual Tenant Garden Competition have been announced at a ceremony in Sutton today.

The Tenant Garden Competition, open to all council tenants, invites entries in the categories of: Best Kept Garden, Best Low Maintenance Garden, Best Vegetable & Herb Garden and Most Improved Garden. This year’s entries were of an extremely high standard and Cllr John Wilmott and Council Officers undertook the tough job of judging. The four winners received their certificates at the ceremony held at the ADC offices in Sutton.

Cllr John Wilmott, Portfolio Holder for Social & Council Housing said “Many of our tenants take huge pride in their gardens and it was great to see so many high quality entries this year, which made judging a really tough job. All the winners and runners up should be very proud of the hard work they put into maintaining their gardens. Thank you to everyone who entered this year’s competition, and I’d encourage tenants to get started in their gardens now ready for next year’s competition!”

The winners are:

Best Kept Garden - Mrs Barbara Walker

Low Maintenance Garden - Mr Kevin Moss and Miss Anne Wilcox

Best Vegetable and Herb Garden - Mrs Maureen Humber

Most Improved Garden - Ms Lisa Spalding
