Active Ashfield has launched a new booklet aimed at people who want to take steps to getting out and about and active in Ashfield.
Walking, running and cycling are great, cost effective ways of becoming physically active and the benefits are numerous, including helping to aid weight loss, boost self-esteem, improve sleep and promote better wellbeing.
The brochure provides information about local beginner groups and links to websites and apps to help get you started in a way that suits your lifestyle.
Councillor Don Davis, portfolio holder for Place and Economic Growth at Ashfield District Council said, ‘Health and wellbeing is a priority for the Council and there are lots of opportunities for people to get out and about in our parks and open spaces. Running, walking and cycling can easily be built into your daily routine and joining local groups led by trained volunteers can also have great social benefits.’
