Council going 'above and beyond'

Ashfield District Council is going 'above and beyond' in delivering progress on recommendations made by a team of independent assessors.

A Corporate Peer Challenge (CPC) led by local government officials commended ADC following a review last year, saying we have a good, ambitious corporate plan, deliver good, solid public services, and have a strong financial position.

In its report the team made a number of recommendations about how we can improve further.

Now, following a revisit the CPC has said it is impressed by the amount of work which has been put into our ongoing determination to improve, and our focus on having a strong performance culture.

Officials also said overall progress was wider and more comprehensive than the eight key recommendations, reflecting our ongoing focus on delivering far wider improvement.

Council Leader Cllr Jason Zadrozny said:

"I'm delighted the CPC can see the continuing upward trajectory ADC is on, as we strive to become even better. They were impressed with the work we've been doing and noted our wider corporate improvement agenda has not been deflected by external factors such as LGR. What's heartening is hearing that we've gone 'above and beyond’ in delivering progress against most of our key recommendations.
"The CPC recognised this positive work and passion for change, and we were applauded for our proactive approaches and maintaining focus, particularly in preparation for LGR."
