Sutton resident sentenced for breaching Injunction Order
A Sutton resident who breached his Injunction Order twice has received a second suspended sentence.
Darren Frost, of no fixed address, breached the terms of his Anti-social Behaviour Injunction Order resulting in action being taken by Ashfield District Council’s Community Safety team.
Frost was originally issued the Anti-social Behaviour Injunction Order in December 2020 for causing high level anti-social behaviour including intimidation, victimisation, threats and ongoing abuse towards others. The Injunction Order forbid him from entering, loitering and remaining on the Carsic estate.
Following a series of breaches, Ashfield District Council’s Community Safety Team swiftly pursued court action. Following a hearing at Nottingham County Court on 15th January 2021, Frost received a 28 day suspended sentence, suspended for the duration of the order. The order was also extended to include an exclusion of Sutton town centre.
On 25th January, Frost was caught in Sutton town centre and subsequently arrested. Appearing again at Nottingham County Court he admitted breaching his order and was committed to a 28 day prison sentence suspended for 12 months.
Cllr Helen-Ann Smith, Cabinet Member for Community Safety said:
“Despite being issued an Injunction Order Darren Frost continued to cause a nuisance to residents. His blatant disregard of this order has resulted in him breaching his order twice and receiving two suspended sentences. This is a serious sentence and should act as warning to those who think its ok to cause a nuisance across the District.
“The Community Safety Team will continue to work closely with Nottinghamshire Police and provide hi-visibility patrols and reassurance to local residents within the area.”
