Rural Volunteers turn out in force for ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ campaign

Thursday 16 March

Yet another fine example of community spirit on Saturday 11 March when 23 Selston Parish volunteers came out to support the special waste collection around Underwood village. Council officers and volunteers collected over 1.1 tonnes of unwanted household items and litter around the area during ‘The Great British Spring Clean’ campaign. Supporting the Green Buddy element of Ashfield District Council’s Even Cleaner Streets scheme were young people from the area who were issued with wrist and snap bands, pencils and mini bugs for their help in making the event so successful.
