Ashfield Business Leaders attend key networking event

Businesses from across Ashfield came together for Ashfield District Council’s latest Business Leaders Networking event, hosted at Van Elle in Kirkby in Ashfield on 7 November, with the focus on sustainability for businesses.

The event gives businesses the opportunity to network and create business links whilst enjoying a selection of breakfast food and drinks before being welcomed into the presentation space to learn about sustainability for businesses of all sizes and arenas.

Key speakers included Dr Baranova, Professor of Strategy and Sustainability at the University of Darby and covered the universities 8 year study on Green Growth, Matt Love, Pre-construction Director at Van Elle, focussing on Van Elle’s journey to net zero and Diana Beresford, Deputy CEO at East Midlands Chamber of Commerce talked about the new Ashfield Accelerator project, coming soon to Ashfield.

Executive Leader for Growth and Regeneration and Local Planning, Cllr Mathew Relf compered the morning and said: “It’s great to see so many businesses here at the event who want to learn and implement sustainability measures within there business. As the eight-year study evidenced, we need all businesses, big and small to set the precedent for the future.”
